Our free virtual support groups run 7 days a week! We meet in person Mondays and Wednesdays 12-8 PM EST!  See the calendar page here for our complete schedules.  If you are new, then please check out our Join Us page and fill out the participant packet and accept the code of conduct.

In-Person Group Descriptions
Covid-19 Considerations & Safety

Please stay home if you have signs or symptoms of any illness to protect our participants, volunteers, staff, and their families. Masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning wipes are available in our facility. We have virtual groups 7 days a week!

Peer Check-In

Group Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays 1-2 PM EST

Peer Check-In is  designed to give everyone in the room space to check in for approximately 2-3 minutes at the beginning.  After everyone has a chance to do the brief check in, then the room opens up for further dialogue regarding check-ins or topics around the check-ins. 

Self Compassion

Mondays 2:30-3:30 PM EST

A place where we can connect and explore ways to build self compassion in our lives.

Wrap Skills

Mondays at 4 PM EST

WRAP Skillz is a group where we pull together ideas and concepts from the Wellness Recovery Action Plan by Mary Ellen Copeland (Evidence Based).  Each week we will look at a little tidbit of info from this great tool.

Makers Group

Mondays 6-7:30 PM EST

Each month we will spotlight a crafting project and make as many as we can. The items made during this time are sold in the community to help fund our program. You do not need any special talents for this group. Come on out. Many hands make light work. We will have guest speakers on topics of interest from participants one week out of every month during this time.

Beat To Your Own Drum

Wednesdays 4-5 PM EST

Come to our office and witness community and healing through drums.

RISE! Resilience-Focused Support Group

Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30/7:45 PM EST

This group is for adults impacted by traumatic life events.  The group will focus on building resilience and moving from “surviving” difficult events to “thriving” in a fulfilling life.

Expressive Prompts

Wednesday evening from 2:30-3:30 PM EST

Using art and/or words to express around a color, an inanimate object, or other random word and those who feel comfortable sharing will have time to share at the end.

Virtual Group Descriptions

Llama Vision: Understanding Disordered Eating & Body Image

Wednesdays 4-5 PM EST

A six-week virtual course dedicated to the topics of body image, diet culture, joyful movement, disordered eating, boundaries, and reflections to be presented in that order. The goal of this group will be to enhance “llama vision”, meaning being able to look at your body and yourself through a trauma informed lens with a focus on self-care and improving the relationship with the physical self. The course will be online and presented with slides and facilitated conversation regarding information for the weekly topic.

The Body Keeps the Score

Mondays 2-3 PM EST

The Body Keeps the Score Group. This is a group book study time for The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel VanDerKolk.

Mid-Morning Music

Saturdays from 10-11 AM EST

Each week, the group will have a different theme. Participants will share a song as part of check in and we will discuss them after everyone has had a chance to share. Come check in and share a song with us!

 

Seeking Safety

Fridays from 10-11:30 AM EST

Overwhelming feelings and emotional pain can be difficult to manage. Individuals may develop patterns in dealing with trauma that rely upon coping skills that are unsafe or have become problematic, keeping people stuck in patterns that no longer work for them and cause even more harm. Seeking safety is a treatment model that seeks to provide new and safe coping skills. This weekly, 2-hour discussion group encourages participants to increase their own repertoire of safe coping skills through group discussion and games using a Seeking Safety Card Deck.

Artist Way

Thursdays from 2-3 PM EST

This is another book group, but it’s also a way of life. It opens a creative side of you that you may think didn’t exist. There’s no pressure in this group. Come follow along in this journey.

LGBTQIA+ Hope

Sundays 4-5 PM EST

An LGBTQ(IA+) group for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies with weekly discussion topics ranging from sharing experience, coping skills, building resilience, ACES, substance use disorders, mental health topics, and more! Each topic will be viewed through the lens of the LGBTQ+ experience.

Understanding Diagnosis

Fridays from 2 to 3 PM EST

Come be authentic about various mental health struggles and learn more about how it impacts us and ways we can live life successfully with it. Topics change from week to week. This comes from a more clinical background, but your presence and involvement change it all.

Art Group

Thursdays from 4-5 PM EST

This is an 8-week Art group. There are various projects on different themes such as strength. There will be time in the group to work on various projects and its up to the individual as to whether they want to share in the last 15 minutes of the group.

RISE! Resilience-Focused Support Group

Boundaries

Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM EST

This group explores boundaries, how to set them, how to enforce them, how to identify healthy ones.

Monthly Movie Night

Third Sundays – 6:30-8:30 PM EST

On the third Sunday of each month, we will be having a Zoom viewing of a movie followed by a short discussion reflecting on identified themes and insights. All movies are rated PG.

DBT Strategies & Skills

Thursdays 6-7:30 PM EST

This is a peer run DBT skills group where people will work through the DBT Skills Workbook by Marsha Linehan.  You are welcome to purchase the book for yourself, sit and follow along, or join our private facebook group to follow along with tasks with pdf posted.

In-Person Group Considerations

Walking During Break Times

Walking behind our office is a something that one can do during unplanned time.  One of the Peer Recovery Specialists can walk that path with you.  A time to stretch and move around or go for a walk around the neighborhood together.
