Our free virtual support groups run 7 days a week!  See the calendar page here for our complete schedules.  If you are new, then please check out our Join Us page and fill out the participant packet and accept the code of conduct.  Our schedule changes constantly so please take a look at our calendar before attending a group.

In-Person Group Descriptions

These groups take place in the Robin’s Hope office located at 9513 Hull Street Road, Suite A, North Chesterfield, VA 23236

Covid-19 Considerations & Safety

Please stay home if you have signs or symptoms of any illness to protect our participants, volunteers, staff, and their families. Masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning wipes are available in our facility. We have virtual groups 7 days a week!

Group Schedule:

Peer Check-In

Mon & Wed 1-2pm EST

Peer Check-In is designed to give everyone in the room space to check in for approximately 2-3 minutes at the beginning.  After everyone has a chance to do the brief check in, then the room opens up for further dialogue regarding check-ins or topics around the check-ins. 

WRAP Skills

Mondays 2:15-3:15 PM EST

WRAP Skillz is a group where we pull together ideas and concepts from the Wellness Recovery Action Plan by Mary Ellen Copeland (Evidence Based). Each week we will look at a little tidbit of info from this great tool.

Coping Skills for PTSD, Substance Use Disorder, and Mental Health

Mondays at 3:30-4:30 PM EST

Each week we look at a list of skills that help our minds redirect or soothe ourselves when life gets tough.

Music Appreciation with Rye

Wednesdays 2:15-3:15pm EST

Each week we will share and play a variety of songs that mean something to us.

Zentangled

Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 PM EST

Come check out the art of Zentangled.  All are welcome.  Art knowledge or ability not required.

Wellness Wednesday

Wednesdays 4:45-5:45pm EST

Come earn about the 8 Dimensions of Wellness and why they are so important and unique for everyone.

RISE! Resilience-Focused Support Group

Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30/7:45 PM EST

This group is for adults impacted by traumatic life events.  The group will focus on building resilience and moving from “surviving” difficult events to “thriving” in a fulfilling life.

Llama Vision: Understanding Disordered Eating & Body Image

Wednesdays 4-5 PM EST

A six-week virtual course dedicated to the topics of body image, diet culture, joyful movement, disordered eating, boundaries, and reflections to be presented in that order. The goal of this group will be to enhance “llama vision”, meaning being able to look at your body and yourself through a trauma informed lens with a focus on self-care and improving the relationship with the physical self. The course will be online and presented with slides and facilitated conversation regarding information for the weekly topic.

The Body Keeps the Score

Mondays 2-3 PM EST

The Body Keeps the Score Group. This is a group book study time for The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel VanDerKolk.

Mid-Morning Music

Wednesdays from 10-11 AM EST

Each week, the group will have a different theme. Participants will share a song as part of check in and we will discuss them after everyone has had a chance to share. Come check in and share a song with us!

 

Seeking Safety

Fridays from 10-11:30 AM EST

Overwhelming feelings and emotional pain can be difficult to manage. Individuals may develop patterns in dealing with trauma that rely upon coping skills that are unsafe or have become problematic, keeping people stuck in patterns that no longer work for them and cause even more harm. Seeking safety is a treatment model that seeks to provide new and safe coping skills. This weekly, 2-hour discussion group encourages participants to increase their own repertoire of safe coping skills through group discussion and games using a Seeking Safety Card Deck.

Artist Way

Thursdays from 2-3 PM EST

This is another book group, but it’s also a way of life. It opens a creative side of you that you may think didn’t exist. There’s no pressure in this group. Come follow along in this journey.

LGBTQIA+ Hope

Sundays 4-5 PM EST

An LGBTQ(IA+) group for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies with weekly discussion topics ranging from sharing experience, coping skills, building resilience, ACES, substance use disorders, mental health topics, and more! Each topic will be viewed through the lens of the LGBTQ+ experience.

Understanding Diagnosis

Fridays from 2 to 3 PM EST

Come be authentic about various mental health & substance use struggles and learn more about how it impacts us and ways we can live life successfully with it. Topics change from week to week.

Art Group

Thursdays from 4-5 PM EST

This is an 4-week Art group. There are various projects on different themes such as strength. There will be time in the group to work on various projects and its up to the individual as to whether they want to share in the last 15 minutes of the group.4

Boundaries

Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM EST

This group explores boundaries, how to set them, how to enforce them, how to identify healthy ones.

DBT Strategies & Skills

Thursdays 6-7:30 PM EST

This is a peer run DBT skills group where we work through the DBT Skills Workbook by Marsha Linehan.  A PDF of the workbook is provided and each group we discuss a different DBT skill or topic

Individual Peer Support

Robin’s Hope encourages healing through connection and community. If you need additional support or an issue requires focus that a group setting may not provide, we offer free, 45-minute individual sessions with a Peer Recovery Specialist.  Please reach out to our Program Director to get added to the Peer Support waiting list. Walking During Break Times

Walking behind our office is something that one can do during unplanned time.  One of the Peer Recovery Specialists can walk that path with you.  A time to stretch and move around or go for a walk around the neighborhood together
