Meet the board! Get to know some of the inspiring people who serve as the governing body of Robin’s Hope! Meet Angie DeBoard!Tell us a little bit about yourself? My name is Angie DeBoard, and I am a LPC-Resident in Counseling. I am originally from New Kent, VA, but spent 18 years living in Houston Texas. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University and my Master's from Liberty University. I connected with Robin's Hope totally by accident. I had just graduated from Liberty in May of 2019. My step daughter was working at a community event for her employer at the time. Her booth was next to the one for Robin's Hope. She sparked a conversation with Jennifer and Heather, and the rest is history. She called me as soon as she got home. I called and spoke with Jennifer the next day.The following week, I joined my first meeting (June 2019), and I have been involved ever since. From the very first group, I could tell that Robin's Hope was special. The inclusive open atmosphere of the groups and its members made me want to be a part of the Robin's Hope family. What do you bring to Robin’s Hope?I bring knowledge of mental health counseling, love of community, lived experience, and the desire for inclusion to the board. What makes you feel hopeful?Seeing people come together to share their hurts, hopes, and experiences with others in a safe and supportive atmosphere makes me hopeful. What would you like the Robin's Hope community to know about you and your journey?I, like all the other members of this community, have lived experience. We each have our own unique road. I feel there is hope for healing when we support each other. ... See MoreSee Less
